With the aim of not having pediatric doses of Covid-19 vaccine at the end of the day, the city of São Paulo started the “vaccine xepa” for children aged five to 11 years without comorbidities and/or permanent disabilities. The registration of the little ones follows the same guidelines as when it was the turn of the adults to enter the queue.
According to the Municipal Health Department, parents who have children within this age group must go to the health center closest to their home or the place where the child studies to inform a telephone number and present proof of residence to the registration. If there is any infant dose available at the end of the day, healthcare professionals will contact you by calling.
It is worth remembering that UBSs and AMAs in the city of São Paulo are open from 8 am to 7 pm, vaccinating children between five and 11 years old who have comorbidities, permanent disabilities or are indigenous and quilombola. The xepa for the general children’s public takes place at the end of the day, so that the ten pediatric doses of each bottle are used within the 12 hours in which they can be applied.
Initiation of vaccination of children without comorbidities
Children who are not part of the immunization priority group and are not called for xepa will need to wait until the second week of february to be vaccinated against Covid-19 in the city of São Paulo.
According to the announcement made by the state government, on January 14, the São Paulo child immunization schedule against the coronavirus will follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, starting from the oldest to the youngest.
Thus, from the 7th of February, the pediatric doses will be destined to the public of 11, ten and nine years. The dates for the immunization of other age groups have not yet been released.
